Contract & hours: 4 on 4 off, 12hr day/night, including weekends and bank holidays

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects such as Local and Strategic projects.
We are now recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Highways team in Penrith and Garstang to respond promptly to incidents on the network as instructed.
Key Responsibilities
As Highways Maintenance Operative you work in close cooperation with team members and subcontractors, contributing to the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment. Contribute to the promotion of customer care by working closely with team members to ensure client and network users are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner. You will liaise directly with the Site Supervisor, Network HUB and other stakeholders where required. It is crucial you can operate a variety of plant and equipment to carry out required duties effectively. Assist with ensuring that site and company equipment is always secure. When required, you will contribute to weekend, bank holiday working and out of hours/call out rosters, along with winter maintenance.
What do we need from you?
- Are 12ab Lantra traffic management trained
- Have a basic Lantra VRS qualification
- Understand strict health & safety operations and the related practical implications
- Demonstrate Asset Management Awareness - operational level required
- Have a LGV driving licence (Group C minimum)
