We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Highways team based in Shrewsbury. We will consider, trainees, operatives, operatives with HGV and skilled operatives. Contract: Full time

Salary: Up to £13.25 per hour + Pension + Benefits + Life assurance



Responsibilities

As Highways Maintenance Operative you'll be working within the Operative team, supporting them with reactive and planned highways maintenance works such as pothole repairs, kerb laying, drainage, out of hours emergency call out and winter maintenance duties

Your day to day will include:

  • Working in close cooperation with team members and subcontractors, contributing to the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment
  • Carrying out collective and personal on-site risk assessments in accordance with company requirements, contributing to the promotion of customer care by working closely with team members to ensure client and network users are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner
  • Operating a variety of plant and equipment, carrying out required duties effectively, training will be provided if required, ensuring site and company equipment is always secure, use of Confirm application accurately recording siteworks and upload photographic evidence
  • Completing daily record sheets as required, conducting daily defect reports on vehicles and ensure vehicles are maintained in good order

  • Drive and hold a full driving licence
  • Contribute to a weekend, bank holiday and out of hours / call out roster
