Job Title: Highways Maintenance Operative - Bronze Support

Location: Polegate

Business Area: Highways

Contract & hours: 12 hours, 4 on 4 off shifts, Permanent

Salary: £11.06 - £12.51 + package

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects such as Strategic and Local Highways.

We are now recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Operative - Bronze Support to join our Highways team in Polegate to maintain the efficient and timely delivery of the operational requirements for a designated area of the network. Be the single point of contact (Network Hub) out of hours to ensure the safe deployment of operatives working on the network.

Key Responsibilities

  • To respond to incidents and emergency works when directed to do so by Highways England, within the KPI timescales.
  • To liaise with the emergency services, network HUB and ROC at the scene of incidents work with them to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
  • To assist with the deployment of other resources to incident scenes as required. Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
What do we need from you?

  • Capable of working under pressure in within a safety critical role.
  • Self-motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Full driving licence.
