We are currently looking for a Highways Safety Inspector to join our Highways team in Birmingham to collect data relating to safety and future improvements in order to safeguard the travelling public and client.
Responsibilities
As Highways Safety Inspector you will carry out inspections in accordance with the well maintained highways code of general practice. Ensure contract compliance on data quality management issues, develop timely and accurate reports, comply with the relevant health and safety legislation. Liaise with the third-party claims team to provide evidence in the defence of claims. Assist with the establishment and implementation of a programme of inspections and investigations, offer support with project administration when required. Record time accurately in project control systems, attend court to assist with the rebuttal of claims against the Highway Authority
We are seeking candidates who:
- Hold relevant inspectors courses and qualifications, including defect identification, monitoring and recording
- Have appropriate legislative and compliance HSEA training
- Can manage stakeholders at all levels
- Hold great attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Are Personal Highway Safety (PHS) certified, with CSCS touch screen health and safety
