Gleeson has been partnered with a Engineering business looking for a Hire Coordinator. The business is looking for a professional that wants advance in a High Growth fast paced business with opportunities to grow their skills and career based in Birmingham.
Job Title: Hire Controller
Locations: Birmingham
Salary: £27-30,000 + Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate supply of plant and equipment to meet site requirements as per agreed schedules.
- Verify availability of company-owned plant prior to confirming any hires, where applicable.
- Utilise the most cost-effective solution to fulfill equipment orders.
- Take full ownership of any arising issues, ensuring they are resolved effectively and promptly.
- Communicate with site teams regarding delivery schedules and equipment details as needed.
- Where viable, replace externally hired equipment with items from the internal fleet.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to assess and agree on any damage or loss charges.
- Stay informed about new plant products and services to support operational needs.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with Company standards and strict adherence to health, safety, and quality protocols.
- Handle and resolve operational queries in a timely and efficient manner.
Ideal Candidate :
- Strong understanding of plant equipment and operations.
- Experience in plant hire processes, including coordinating movement and haulage.
- Background in the construction industry is highly desirable.
