Position - Hire Desk Trainee

Salary Range - Competitive salary plus matched pension up to 7.5%, numerous retail discounts and up to 10% off new Kier homes

Location - Aylesford, Kent

Kier Construction are looking to recruit a Hire Desk Trainee to support the Site Services Department. Working within a small team, the Hire Desk Trainee will have the opportunity to learn and be involved with all aspects of the plant hire industry. Overall, the role will involve communicating with project teams, suppliers and the Kier direct hire team to facilitate and co-ordinate all required plant hire for six Kier Construction offices in the Southern and Thames Valley regions.

Responsibilities:
  • Take e-mail and telephone enquiries from project teams and where required / possible assist on selection of required equipment
  • Liaise with Kier direct hire and facilitate the requisition to order process is fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Report back on Kier supply deals
  • Utilise Kier owned equipment as much as possible
  • Assist with scheduling of Kier site services transport
  • Input requisitions on Kier direct hire
  • Produce reports for circulation to the wider business
  • Learn Kier site services business
Individual:
  • Base knowledge of plant and small tools & hire industry
  • Capability to learn and utilise back office IT system and functions
  • Competent with Microsoft systems such as Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Good standard of written and verbal communications
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and off own initiative
