Full-time, permanent position
National: England, Scotland and Wales
Breedon are seeking a HR Business Partner to join our HR team at Breedon Group. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be the first point of contact to provide generalist HR support and advice as well as support operational management teams across the business to address resourcing needs. This role has a National remit, covering England, Scotland and Wales, and will work closely alongside the HR Manager, HR Administrator, and wider HR community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITIES:
- Providing high-quality pragmatic advice on generalist HR issues including complex case management.
- Provide support and drive forward improvement in resourcing needs for the business reducing the time to hire timescales.
- Support with interview and shortlisting as required for key appointments.
- Review opportunities for growth with apprenticeship, graduate and/or kickstart recruitment.
- Work in partnership with L&D on development opportunities for apprenticeship/graduate and other training providers.
- Review opportunities to attract and improve diversity of teams.
- Support and coach line management when conducting investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, appeal and performance meetings.
- Upskill the management population by providing training on HR-related Policies & Procedures.
- Monitor attendance, completing monthly absence reports and monitor absence rates, seeking to support management with interventions to improve both.
- Oversee the management of LTS cases and complete Occupational Health referrals where necessary.
- Support talent management and succession planning activities as required including linking with L&D function for any learning interventions required.
- Support delivery of Company People Plan at a business and national level, including working as part of project teams to deliver, design and implement initiatives as required.
- Support the HR Manager and other HR colleagues as required in any other HR activity, such as case management, terms & condition reviews, consultation, restructuring/change programmes including redundancy, acquisitions, TUPE.
- Ensure effective, timely case management of people-related issues.
- Support HR administrator to respond to any queries from employees/site administrators regarding pay, holidays etc.
- Represent the HR team in a professional manner to the wider business, championing collaborative working relationships both with our internal and external stakeholders.
CORE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS:

- Proven experience of undertaking a generalist standalone HR role at a senior HR Advisor level as a minimum in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of delivering full resourcing solutions.
- Ability to deliver management reporting including use of complex excel formulas.
- Ability to build and maintain credibility and trusting relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ability to manage numerous complex workloads at any one time.
- Be able to work well and remain calm under pressure.
- To work autonomously across national geographical remit.
- To strive for continuous improvement with a focus on finding the right solution.
- Proven experience of complex case management and application of the latest employment legislation.
- Show resilience and the skill to deal with challenging stakeholders and situations.
- Show flexibility when it comes to business needs and change.
- Effective time management.
- Hold a full clean driving licence.
