The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects.
The Company is tendering for a project to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a construction project.
The Company will not find out if they are successful until Mid-April which leaves minimum time to recruit around 90 workers necessary for the construction of the Temporary facilities.
Most positions will come to an end after 3-4 months although a small number may continue for the life of the main project.
Expressions of Interest are requested for one of the initial positions to be filled, that of HSE Officer.
Please note this vacancy will not become an available job if the Company is unsuccessful in its tender.
Key Features of the Role:
Support the development of OHS policies and programs and advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures, review existing policies measures, and update according to legislation.
Utilise your experience as an HSE Officer to initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives.
Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances and stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
Initiate actions needed to reduce risks with trip hazards, human machine interface, hazardous materials and chemicals, compressed gasses. Make sure required barricades are installed at work place.
Comply with the reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences (RIDDOR) regulations 2013.
Ensure compliance with a loss prevention system.
Ensure compliance with colour coding system of materials and equipment, generate and ensure compliance for confined space entry, excavations, motorized heavy equipment, energy isolation, hot works, on, near or over water.
Follow hazard elimination program (HELP).
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ideally be an accomplished Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Officer with a Bachelors’ Degree in Safety Management or equivalent qualification in Occupation Health and Safety

Experience in a Petro Chemical Construction environment and knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures as an HSE Officer.
Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
Understand legal health and safety guidelines, produce reports, develop relevant policies and knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
Ideally you will have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company.
What’s on Offer?
£32-35K pro rata on a temporary worker basis.
No Holidays are offered or expected to be taken during the 4 months unless fully authorised by the Senior Manager on site.
