ICA Technician (Instrumentation, Control & Automation Technician)

Kier and its partnership with South West Water are passionate about providing an exceptional service to customers. We help to provide high quality drinking and wastewater service throughout Cornwall, Devon, Bournemouth and small parts of Somerset.
We are looking for ICA Technicians, working in a multi-disciplinary team, alongside a range of operational teams such as systems, mechanical and electrical technicians.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Install, modify, and commission new plant equipment to relevant standards
  • Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plants
  • Carry out instrumentation, control and automation maintenance and installation on a variety of waste assets including planned, and reactive tasks, whilst liaising with suppliers at all times
  • Investigating plant failures and the implementation of subsequent repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to avoid interruptions to the water


    What do we need from you?

  • Good and practical understanding of operational plant and control systems
  • Knowledge and experience of working with relay logic and PLCs and able to read and fault find from circuit diagrams
  • Understanding of wastewater treatment processes
