Job Title: ICA Technician (Instrumentation, Control & Automation Technician)

Location: Hatherleigh

Business Area: Kier Utilities- South West Water

Contract/ Hours: Permanent- Full Time

Kier and its Alliance with South West Water are passionate about water. We help to provide clean and wastewater services to c. 1.7 million people in Cornwall, Devon, and parts of Somerset and Dorset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, modify, and commission new plant equipment to relevant standards
  • Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plants
  • Carry out instrumentation, control and automation maintenance and installation on a variety of waste assets including planned, and reactive tasks, whilst liaising with supplier at all times
  • Investigating plant failures and the implementation of subsequent repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to avoid interruptions to the water
What do we need from you?

  • Good and practical understanding of operational plant and control systems
  • Knowledge and experience of working with relay logic and PLCs and able to read and fault find from circuit diagrams
  • Understanding of wastewater treatment processes
