Interior Designer Job in Edinburgh, Scotland

Interior Designer / Space Planner required to join an established architectural and design consultancy focused on workplace projects across Scotland and the UK. You will be working as part of a dynamic team, covering all stages of workplace consultancy and fit-out. The ideal candidate will be coming from a workplace design firm, either from a traditional or D&B background.

With over 25 years in the industry, our client is a top-tier design firm with a team of over 200 members of staff across 5 offices throughout Scotland. They provide services to clients of all sizes across interior design, architecture, workplace consultancy, space planning, change management, and full design & build. Due to further expansion of their portfolio, they're looking to hire an experienced interior designer with strong space planning skills to join their Edinburgh office on a full-time permanent basis.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Obtain and understand project requirements from the wider team and clients directly
  • Produce a range of technical and concept imagery/designs in both 2D and 3D packages
  • Carry out surveys and feasibility studies, creating detailed space plans
  • FF&E specification, selection, and cost analysis
  • Liaise with clients and contractors on all relevant issues
  • Carry out site visits and oversee installations
  • Work with the wider team to establish costings and work schedules

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a design role, within the commercial/workplace sector
  • Degree qualified in interior design, or similar
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Ideally experience with SketchUp or other 3D design software
