Intermediate Project Manager - Thames Valley
Salary: £50 000 - £60 000
Finally a job to actually get excited about! Of all the large main contractors I work with who put out the same generic job specification for the same generic project manager - this is NOT one of them. My client are a small main contractor based out of Reading that operate in the residential, commercial, hospitality and education sectors and typically run sites up to £14 million across West London and the Thames Valley region. With their incredibly low staff turnover, and their ability to let their project managers do exactly that - project manage and be drivers of the business - they rarely look for new recruits.
Now they have experienced sustained growth, in large part from taking on a Senior Project Manager two years ago who have seen their successful bids go from 12% to 70%. As such they are after a new intermediate project manager to tackle one of their multiple new projects. Ideally they are after a a senior site manager looking to take a step up or a more junior project manager who is looking to join a company where they will be exposed to every area of what you might call a 'traditional project manager' including the procurement, commercial, and even some tendering rather than just a 'glorified site manager'.
The requirements for this role:
- Relevant project manager qualification such as PMP, RICS, CIOB or working towards MCIOB or,
- a site manager with SMSTS and some exposure to elements of project management/ a desire to become a project manager.
- Passionate and driven about project management with a desire to be a driver of the business.
- Experience working on site in one of the sectors described above.
There are various projects that you may be working on from hospital refurbishment to new build private residential single dwelling so for more information on whether this role is right for you, please apply with an attached CV or contact Pete Greenlaw on 0118 907 7883.
