Internal Sales Executive - Timber Products

You will be working for a very well established family owned company with over 90 years of experience within the timber industry.

You will be providing a fantastic service to customers whilst promoting the company's products and services, selling a variety of timber based products including Hardwood, Softwoods, Plywood, OSB, MDF, timber engineered products and carcassing to regular housebuilder customers.

As an Internal Sales Executive you will be:

  • Providing a first-class service to customers whilst delivering a the Company's policies and objectives
  • Dealing with complaints or non-conformances for quality, safety or environmental matter and ensure corrective action is taken
  • Delivering the company's environmental policy and strive to achieve the company's environmental improvement plan
  • Building relationships with customers and gaining a clear understanding of customers' requirements
  • Effectively liaising with the Sales Manager to resolve any issues arising within the sales department
  • Ensuring efficient and effective sales order and quotation processing


Operationally, you will have responsibility for:

  • Organising and managing the keeping of sales and customer records
  • Quoting new business as well as chasing outstanding quotations and enquiries
  • Creating contacts within the internal CRM related to each account
  • Promoting further sales as well as issuing and chasing new account applications
  • Negotiate terms and prices in order to achieve best price / Margin for each order
  • When necessary ensure the buying price for non-stock items is correct
  • Accept and confirm new orders (Check prices and delivery details) and chase orders to ensure delivery dates are met
  • Liaise with yard and transport to confirm delivery / collection lead time for orders and ensuring stock is available for orders that require irregular stock items
