Job Opportunity: Irrigation Engineer (Contract)

Are you an experienced Irrigation Engineer ready to make a significant impact in the water and agriculture sector? We are seeking a skilled professional to join a World Bank-financed project in Malawi. This is a long-term opportunity to contribute to the detailed feasibility and design studies as well as oversee the construction of critical irrigation schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review detailed feasibility studies, design plans, and tender documents.
  • Design medium to large-scale irrigation projects with active farmer participation.
  • Supervise the construction of water-related infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MSc in Civil or Irrigation Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven track record in feasibility studies and irrigation project design.
  • Hands-on experience in construction supervision for similar projects.
  • Participation in at least three assignments of comparable scale and complexity.

Contract Details:

  • Location: Malawi.
  • Duration: Approx. 30.5 months starting March 2025.
  • Engagement Phases: Feasibility studies, design, and tendering over 6.5 months.
