Are you an ITAM Analyst who can play a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of information technology assets within our organisation?
Do you have previous experience in tracking, analysing, and optimising IT assets? If so, you are who we are looking for.
Your proven experience in software asset management, preferably in a large-scale organisation will ensure efficient utilisation, cost-effectiveness, compliance, and overall alignment with business goals.
Given your knowledge in Software Lifecycle Management skills you will enable to work collaboratively with the Software Asset Manager to ensure the information within the SAM tool is continually maintained so that there is always 'one source of truth capturing all software licence data.
This is a great opportunity to be involved in asset management and drive the business function into Cost Optimisation and achieve cost-saving efforts.
Role and responsibility:
- Responsible for procurement of licences where needed through the agreed procurement route.
- Review and processing of software request tickets in accordance with SAM processes and procedures
- Document all relevant processes around software asset management and maintain governance and compliance
- Carry out internal software audits and always ensure that licensing by software item is correct and up to date
- Monitor license usage, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and avoiding any potential penalties or risks.
- Analyse the impact of software licence models enforced by vendors
- Ensure effective management and accuracy of the CMDB with regards to software assets
- Produce and analyse registers and histories of authorised assets and verifies that all these assets are in a known state and location.
- Collaborate with IT Service teams to ensure proper software deployment, including installation, updates, and patches.
- Produce the standardised suite of reports for all Tier 1 software that provides transparency on usage across our licensing estate.
- Identify and quantify cost optimisation opportunities across the software estate
- Maintain long-term forecast of software costs for use in financial forecasts and budgets
- Able to build external relationships with Technology product and service vendors
Education & Experience
- Strong understanding of software management tools, such as SNOW and Service Now
- Good analytical skills, especially with end-user devices
- A basic understanding of Change Management within businesses
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology.
- Experience with software asset management for Tier 1 vendors - Microsoft, SAP etc
- Strong knowledge of software asset lifecycle management, licensing agreements, and compliance requirements.
