Position Overview - Joiner / Machinist
As a skilled tradesperson you will report to the Joinery Manager, based at our joinery workshop in our Head Office in Thatcham. The successful applicant will an experienced general joiner. We are not looking for cabinet makers.
Duties may include - Joiner / Machinist
Production of general joinery items from windows and doors with linings to other associated works such as, reception counters, bars, or furniture and possibly staircases, Skirting and moulding runs.
Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislations.
Providing a service to clients and maintain good customer service and relationships with the other tradespeople you will be working alongside.
Desirable skills and attributes - Joiner / Machinist
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy being able to work to detailed drawings or to match existing items.
Quick learner
Good mathematical skills for setting out calculations.
Creative and good eye for design
Experienced in the use of classical joinery machines, including: Multi Headed tenoner, Spindle Moulder, 4-sided planer, panel saw and morticer.
Able to work alone without guidance
Must be a team player.
Qualifications and experience needed - Joiner / Machinist
Successful completion of an apprenticeship and will have between 5 - 10 years post-qualification, learning the trade whilst working on the job.
Have your own transport and be able to visit sites
Spray finishing experience and staircase manufacturing experience would be a bonus.
Salary & Benefits:
£16 to £20, depending on experience
