We seek a Trainee/Junior Timber Frame Designer to join a small team of designers in one of the most proactive independent timber engineering companies. You will be learning and developing yourself to become a Timber Frame Designer and be a part of a growing company.
We are interested to hear from you if you are interested in working in timber, one of the most sustainable and energy-efficient materials around. This role will give you exposure to some great projects, working with some of the larger Housing Developers and Construction Companies. Your projects could range from one-off bespoke residential projects to some large developments and you will be able to see the project through from quotation stage (estimating, client liaison) through to manufacturing and installation.
What will you need for this role?
:: HND/HND or Degree or an equivalent qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or Architecture or similar
:: A good level of computer skills is essential
:: Experience with AutoCAD is essential
:: Bags of enthusiasm tempered with a highly organised and disciplined approach, and a wish to work to continuously improve yourself and your work
:: Knowledge of, and a very real passion for technical design.
:: Good numerical skills
:: Attention to detail
:: Strong communication skills
As a Trainee Timber Frame Designer you will be provided with training in the following:
:: General Construction Techniques
:: Designing Timber Frame structures and learning about the sector
:: Specialist training on design software
