Junior Interior Designer Job in New Milton, Hampshire

Junior Interior Designer required to join a growing workplace design and build company based in New Milton. The practice has been established for over a decade and specialise in workplace and commercial design, covering projects all across the UK. The practice has a great company culture and will provide a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Interior Designer to continue their career as part of a close-knit team of professionals.

Established in 2008, the practice operates under a number of divisions and have gone from strength to strength over the years. This is a creative design role within the design & build sector. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to further their skills and work across all stages from concept through to installation, liaising with both clients and contractors under the guidance and support of senior members of the team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • To develop and present ideas for concept design
  • Use AutoCAD and/or Revit for technical drawings and design detailing
  • Support with the design and selection/detailing of FF&E
  • Attend client briefs with senior members of the team and support them with note taking and liaising with relevant departments thereafter
  • To understand and work within the company's design standards and required specifications
  • Attend site visits/sub-contractor meetings alongside other members of the team
  • General project administration.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture - desirable, not essential
  • 0-2 years of experience working in conceptual design within the Design & Build sector
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of relevant building regulations and industry standards
  • Knowledge of FF&E and suppliers
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project price-points
  • Competent AutoCAD, Adobe CS, and MS Office user
  • Experience with Revit, SketchUp, Illustrator, and Photoshop would also be highly beneficial but not essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
