Location: Flexible - closest depot within East Anglia, the East of England and Essex
Kier Strategic Highways is looking to recruit a Landscape Senior Supervisor to join the Areas 6&8 highways maintenance contract.

Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.
Job Purpose:
The Area 6 & 8 contracts for Highways England span trunk roads and motorways in the East of England region. The role is part of an expanding multi-disciplinary construction team, supporting a broad portfolio of delivery of soft estate cyclical maintenance, network enhancement and small works projects. This role will be the focal point for onsite and supervision requirements for all soft estate activities across the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with supply chain on timescales for delivery of projects and work specifications
- Site auditing to ensure on-site compliance of; Kier safe working practices and minimum standards, job specific and generic Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Supervision of self-delivery and supply chain work
- Assisting with Customer Correspondence
- Implementation of soft estate calendar to ensure effective and efficient delivery of all works, ensuring efficiencies across the business
- Liaison with the Programmer & Defect champion and Landscape Delivery Manager to ensure that all defects are closed out in a timely manner
- Support the team in identifying new initiatives, innovations and wider opportunities to promote environmental awareness and best practice
- Keep up to date with new policies and legislation
- Input and review of the relevant procedures
- Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System
- Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in the highways industry
- Landscape/ arboricultural background
- Risk management experience
- SSSTS
- Supervisor CSCS card
- Technical competence
- Able to plan and organise
- Strong communication skills
- Right first time attitude to duties
- The ability to work within a team
