Job Title: Lead Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer

Location: Lincoln - This is an agile role where you will be predominantly based out of the Lincoln Office with partial home working available and will require some travel to Client offices and project sites

Business area: Kier Design & Business Services - an autonomous and externally facing multi-discipline design consultancy within the wider Kier group

We are now looking for a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to join our Lincoln team and undertake a wide range of projects from encompassing education, blue light, commercial, healthcare, leisure and more!

Key Responsibilities

As our Lead Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer your role will encompass both Mechanical design and the management of all works through the M&E team. You will work closely with both private and public sector clients, professional colleagues and other design disciplines, in order to deliver a high quality and timely end product both as a single discipline team and as a key contributor to multi-disciplinary design projects. You will take full responsibility and lead on the preparation of designs and advice including stage and feasibility reports for all aspects of Mechanical building services engineering and provide coordinated solutions for major new builds, refurbishments and minor works. You will play an active part in developing the M&E Team and interact with the wider multi-discipline team, and will support with bid submissions, presentation materials, and Client meetings.

You will effectively manage and motivate the team, be required to establish strong relationships with stakeholders, deliver projects in line with the timescale and budget, attend project design meetings, provide highly technical advice in mechanical building services engineering, and develop innovative solutions and proposals to enhance the M&E service delivery.

What do we need from you?

Ideally you will hold a Degree or HND in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering plus significant experience demonstrating appropriate ability to fulfil the accountabilities of the role. Able to work to tight timescales and budgets with minimal supervision, you will be technically competent with demonstrable knowledge and experience in your discipline and an understanding of current Building Regulations, Health and Safety, Quality Management and CDM regulations. Proven experience with use of industry standard design software including Cymap, NBS, TAS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office are desirable.
