Protocol are working with a further education college in the St. Helens area to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis!

Role responsibilities

To provide additional learning support face to face within the learner's college setting.
Gather and maintain accurate records of each support intervention.
To be an advocate for Learner Support, confidently advising the Support Network about how they can improve their skills in relation to the need identified.
Recognise where further assessment may be necessary and make referrals to specialists within the team.
To work closely with those in the Learner's Support Network, both internally and externally to ensure a collaborative, joint-up approach is implemented throughout the learner journey.
Monitor and maintain confidentiality and the sharing of information as appropriate.
To promote a culture of "achieving excellence" to ensure that every learner can realise their full potential.
To support learners to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to succeed on an ambitious qualification.

The person & qualifications

A level 3 teaching qualification is desirable
A minimum of C/4 in GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent
Experience or qualifications with SEN
Passion for providing exceptional learning support
Proven experience of a previous role within learning support
