Protocol are working alongside a fantastic college in Wiltshire to recruit a Learning support assistant on a Full time basis.Learning Mentors may be assigned to work with named students with a variety of complex needs and disabilities from pre-entry level to HE level. As such, they will be need to have an appropriate level of education themselves including the attainment of English & Maths to at least Level 2.
Role responsibilities
To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support provided to ensure that it meets the needs of the learner and supports them in developing independence and achieving identified qualifications, SMART targets and EHCP outcomes.
To enable learners with high needs and declared support needs to access learning and college facilities.
To support learners in a variety of ways according to need.
The person & qualifications
Hold Literacy and Numeracy qualifications to Level 2 or equivalent (e.g. GCSE A-C) or above
Hold or to be willing to work towards a relevant Level 3 or equivalent qualification in supporting learner with additional or complex needs
Have experience of supporting individuals to meet agreed objectives and milestones
A good understanding of LSDS needs and strategies for supporting students
