Legal Counsel - Commercial/Corporate

A Legal Counsel role doesn't have to be built on timesheets and billable hours. It doesn't have to be a function within a large machine, shut out from in-house relationships and the bigger picture.

As a Commercial/Corporate Legal Counsel at Breedon, you'll get to grips with exciting multifaceted business-facing work spanning a rich variety of colleague functions, backgrounds, and departments.

Working for the largest independent construction materials business in the UK and Ireland, you will have the opportunity to engage with clients and truly get to know them.

A far cry from the suit-wearing, corporate clone textbook cliché, this is a Legal Counsel role that will give you the chance to live and breathe real-life business and the people immersed in it.

Do You Offer…?

  • At least one year of Post Qualification Experience (PQE)
  • Experience in commercial contracts and high-value transactions
  • Acquisitions experience; exposure to due diligence processes

As Legal Counsel at Breedon, you'll be joining a fast-paced, innovative, and growing independent business. You will support dynamic and interesting work across commercial contracts, regulation policies/queries, and corporate acquisitions.

Working closely with our in-house teams, you'll be covering all areas of Breedon's work in the UK and Ireland - inclusive of a diverse and dynamic range of partners, third parties, and projects, plus the prospect of international experience moving forward.

You'll be an ideal fit for this position if you enjoy building relationships with business colleagues and providing end-to-end business support. Broad learning opportunities will come hand in hand with our breadth of work and growth as a business.

About us

Breedon is a leading construction materials group in Great Britain and Ireland. We produce cement, aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, Welsh slate and specialist concrete and clay products, and offer a range of contracting services.

We have strong asset backing, with around 1 billion tonnes of mineral reserves and resources. Our strategy is to continue growing through organic improvement and the acquisition of businesses in the heavyside construction materials market.

We report as three segments: Great Britain (GB), Ireland and Cement. Our operations in GB and Ireland are fully-integrated aggregates and downstream products businesses. Our Cement business is a major producer of bulk and bagged cement in GB and the Republic of Ireland.
