Maintenance Operative / Handyperson

Salary: £30,000 per annum

We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Operative / Handyperson to join a highly regarded repairs and maintenance team. This team delivers a first-class repairs service in partnership with an NHS Trust across a number of sites in Luton, Bedford and East London.

Normal working hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. You will also have the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).

Responsibilities:

  • Replacing light fixtures/light bulbs
  • Replacing door handles and locks
  • Painting and decorating
  • Basic plumbing repairs (changing taps, washers, etc.)
  • Filling holes/retouching
  • Patch plastering
  • Preventative maintenance activities such as temperature checks, emergency light checks and planned upgrade works.

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points or a driving ban within the last 3 years)
  • City & Guilds/NVQ in Carpentry and Joinery or Plumbing
  • DBS Disclosure
