Select is a complex £200m Turnover Business It has a plant and equipment investment holding of £175m and invests circa. £35m annually in new plant and equipment. It finances this investment through a £100m asset finance portfolio.

Role Overview:

  • Select is seeking to recruit a high calibre Management Accountant who will act as finance lead within one or more Select Divisions
  • This role is an opportunity to join a progressive company and will offer the right candidate a range of career options. It will involve exposure to the business unit director, division leader, central finance and commercial & operational staff across the business.

What will the role look like?

  • Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for Division.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts packs for FC review.
  • Presentation of Divisional financials at monthly contract reviews
  • Business partner with Divisional leader to drive Divisional performance
  • Oversee the budgeting and planning process within the Division
  • Promote financial understanding, controls and diligence across the relevant Select Divisions, through interaction with non-finance staff on issues such as cash management and asset controls.
  • Oversee divisional capital investment programme and assist in writing Capital business cases.
  • Own Divisional Fixed asset register ensuring assets are accurately recorded, depreciated and physically controlled.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Ideally Fully qualified accountant, Nearly qualified
  • A desire to build a career in a highly commercial environment and the ability to work effectively through influence (rather than through direct control) are essential.
  • Candidates must have a record of academic success, and a mix of the following personal and professional characteristics:

  • Effective communicator, a strong team ethic and a desire to share knowledge
  • Confident, ambitious, well-rounded and able to relate to senior executives
  • Self motivated target setter

  • Commercial acumen, with experience at working across businesses / disciplines
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Performance management and measurement, and business case preparation
