Responsibilities
As a Materials Lead Engineer, you'll be working within the Devonport Docks team, supporting them in providing technical advice to the project teams on the preparation of Material Acceptance Requests, monitoring any subsequent feedback and any technical queries thereon for concrete, asphalt, earthworks materials, aggregates, reinforcing steel and any other relevant construction materials.

Your day to day will include:
- Develop a detailed understanding of project specifications sufficient to comment on the technical aspects of construction materials design, supply, use and testing with the site project team and/or designer and/or client.
- Provide technical advice to the project teams regarding suitability and use of concrete, asphalt, earthworks materials, aggregates, reinforcing steel and any other constituent materials used in the production of construction materials.
- Review mix designs and offer guidance to the project teams on suitability with respect to use, performance and durability.
- Ability to carry out audits and plant inspections of production plants used in the manufacture of concrete, asphalt, un-bound and hydraulically bound materials and aggregates.
- Develop training aids and deliver training to site personnel involved with concrete, asphalt, earthworks materials, aggregates, reinforcing steel and any other constituent materials used in the production of construction materials
