Job Description:
As a Mechanical Construction Manager, you will lead construction projects from planning through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and oversee both on-site and off-site activities to ensure compliance with all regulations and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project schedules, including 12-week lookaheads and progress reporting.
- Identify and communicate potential roadblocks to the Main Contractor and Contracts Manager.
- Conduct regular site safety and quality inspections, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Lead and coordinate commissioning activities, tracking progress and ensuring prompt closure of outstanding items.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Over 10 years' experience in construction management and senior supervisory roles, with a strong background in piping installation.
- 5+ years' proven leadership managing teams of up to 10 supervisors and 100 craft personnel, including planning, execution, productivity tracking, and weekly reporting to Contracts Manager.
- Expert in piping systems: supporting, installation, welding, testing, sloping, and handover.
- Deep understanding of quality standards and compliance in piping installation.
- Proficient in Navisworks for 3D model navigation, isometric drawings, and supervisor workpack tracking.
- Strong track record in project schedule management and delivery.
- Commercially aware with a solid grasp of cost and resource optimization.
- Well-versed in construction health and safety protocols, including RAMS, SPA's, and daily/weekly safety procedures.
- Hands-on experience with hygienic piping and orbital welding is a plus.
- Holds a third-level qualification in construction or mechanical engineering (preferred).
