We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the M&E facilities function for Laing O'Rourke's asset portfolio, providing both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all plant and facilities infrastructure.
Reporting to the Head of Forensics & Administration, the role will be responsible for reviewing, developing, implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern maintenance principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes as appropriate. Your role is to increase site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans,
This is a relatively new role within the company, so your ability to identify current state, develop a structured project plan and work collaboratively with stakeholders and suppliers across the business to enlist their support for change will be highly valued. You are highly skilled in influencing and negotiating with exceptional communication capabilities, written and oral. You are proactive and passionate about delivering a Facilities Management function which challenges industry norms.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating across the core areas, ideally within a similar scaled organisation and is confident leading a high performing M&E delivery teams. Engineering and ISOH qualifications will be highly regarded as will your experience in overseeing P&L responsibilities for maintenance.

Key responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:
- Identify, deliver and create and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
- Identify, deliver and create new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities
- Work with Facilities & Property team to identify, review and develop an overall M&E supply chain & contracts management strategy
- Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of and reporting performance issues, and ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to;
- Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved by the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works in a timely and efficient manner ensuring safety measures are adhered to and managed effectively at all times;
- Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring full preventative maintenance is carried out, with gaps in delivery identified and resolved.
- Ensure statutory compliance is recorded in the agreed management system accurately and that tasks and actions are carried out in a timely and efficient manner;
- Manage suppliers/contractors on site to ensure they meet legal, statutory and company requirements;
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve or improve processes as necessary to prevent re-occurrence utilisation a Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) approach;
