Mechanical Design Engineer

Kier are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Heart of Wales Property Services (HOWPS) contract, to sit within the Mechanical & Electrical section of its consultancy service. Covering projects throughout the county of Powys and reporting to the Energy and Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of projects, from minor refurbishments to major new builds. This role would suit someone with experience of mechanical design within a building services context.


Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the procurement, project management and financial control of mechanical projects within a building services environment. To direct and oversee external consultants working on HoWPS' behalf. Procure, appoint and manage external suppliers as necessary to undertake work on HoWPS' behalf by adhering to the Company's procurement processes. Formulate and implement policy and procedure on mechanical matters within HoWPS to ensure the Company complies with constantly changing statutory regulations.

What are we looking for?

Knowledge and understanding of M&E Services Project design and delivery. Detailed knowledge and understanding of legislation applicable to the construction industry, with particular emphasis on M&E services and its application in a local government environment. Knowledge and understanding of relevant policy and performance management procedures.
