Are you an experienced MEICA Estimator looking to make a real impact in the water and wastewater sector? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our client, supporting the delivery of high-quality MEICA solutions across the Southern region.
About the Role
As a MEICA Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation of competitive and technically robust tenders for MEICA-related projects. From the development of project scope and design to contract award and early project support, you will ensure all elements are efficiently priced and aligned with client expectations.
You'll work collaboratively with our Contracts Managers, Engineers, and Commercial teams to drive value, ensure quality, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects that are safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities
Develop accurate MEICA estimates and tender submissions for water and wastewater treatment projects.
Collaborate with the MEICA and civil teams to define project scope, methodology, and technical requirements.
Prepare and manage supplier and subcontractor enquiries, reviewing technical and commercial submissions.
Produce bottom-up cost estimates from technical drawings and client specifications.
Support the development of tender stage method statements and programmes.
Manage risk and value throughout the tendering process.
Capture and apply learning from project outcomes to future estimates.
Ensure all estimating procedures and governance requirements are followed.
What We're Looking For
Strong background in MEICA estimating or a related role such as Mechanical or Electrical Estimator / Proposals Engineer.
Practical experience with MEICA systems and a good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
Ability to interpret technical documentation and develop cost build-ups for labour, materials, and equipment.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Candy) and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working under NEC or similar contracts within a framework environment.
Qualifications and Desirable Skills
HNC, HND or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline.
CSCS card, SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid (Desirable).
Knowledge of WIMES standards and Thames Water Safety Passport (Desirable).
EUSR Water Hygiene card (Desirable).
