Our client, a leading international construction company, is seeking an experienced MEP Lead to join our team in Dublin. Responsibilities:
- MEP System Coordination: Lead the coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on the Data Centre project. Ensure all MEP installations are executed to the highest standards, in compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Team Management: Supervise a team of MEP engineers, subcontractors, and technicians. Provide guidance, support, and technical expertise to ensure successful project delivery.
- Project Planning: Collaborate with the project management team to develop detailed MEP project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective measures as required.
- Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control procedures to verify MEP installations meet design specifications, codes, and standards. Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Design Review: Review MEP design documents and drawings, identify potential issues or conflicts, and propose solutions to optimize system performance and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Foster effective communication and coordination with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth MEP integration within the project framework.
- Technical Expertise: Stay updated with the latest advancements in MEP technologies and industry trends. Apply innovative approaches to enhance project delivery and improve energy efficiency.
Personal Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in MEP coordination, preferably in Data Centre or mission-critical facility projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing MEP installations within complex construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, and building management systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting MEP design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, CIBSE).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Knowledge of project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) is desirable.
- Certifications: Professional certifications related to MEP systems (e.g., CEng, LEED AP, PMP) are advantageous.
