JOB DESCRIPTION:

MS Project Planner required for a large nationwide manufacturing company that specialises in commercial and government projects. Our client is looking for experienced and hardworking planner to join a project based in Rugby. The site can be accessed by public transport so own transport is not essential.

This contract will be ongoing, with hours being 7:30 - 4:30, Monday-Friday and the option to work overtime at the weekends.

Daily responsibilities will include:

    • Managing resource schedule through close working with individual project and programme teams
    • Interfacing with Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Process Team Managers and supervisors to ensure resource schedule incorporates a consolidated view of future resource capacity.
    • Assist project teams in delivering projects on time and in the most efficient manner.
    • Conduct what-if scenarios and simulations to assess the impact of changes, delays, or resource constraints on project schedules.
    • Monitor and track project progress, regularly updating schedules to reflect actual progress and identifying any deviations or delays.
    • Facilitate schedule review meetings and discussions with project teams, stakeholders, and management, addressing schedule-related issues and proposing solutions.
    • Updating and supporting updates to project programmes
    • Work with the Project, Engineering and operation teams to escalate resource peaks and troughs.
    • Forecasting future resource requirements to support recruitment ahead of need.

Requirements for the role

    • Be a 'can do' person with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Have budget and financial management experience.
    • Proactive attitude with strong organisational, time management and decision-making skills.
    • Knowledge of MS Office packages, certified in using Microsoft Project.
    • Understanding of engineering principles.
    • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations & duties, JCT and NEC Contracts.
    • Strong Problem-solving skills with an enthusiastic commitment to deliver excellent customer service.
