Location: Home based, covering Cambridgeshire

Business Area: Kier Housing Maintenance

Contract: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £27-32k basic + van, standby & out of hours call out

Kier Places are recruiting today for a Multi-Skilled Carpenter / Joiner, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Housing Maintenance repair & servicing solution for our prestigious client, the Muir Housing. You will be providing planned & reactive maintenance with a Carpentry & Joinery bias in social housing residential properties managed by the housing association.


Key Responsibilities

In this important role and rewarding role as a Carpenter / Joiner, you will be carrying out joinery & repair works to a high level "right first time" basis, in a cost-effective manner. Some minor after-trade work would be required e.g. brickwork, plastering & basic plumbing.


What do we need from you?

We're on the lookout for those have a previous carpentry / joinery trade background with experience in the housing maintenance and social housing sector, including Occupied & Void properties, ideally with a relevant formal qualification.

You'll be able to read construction drawings, be experienced in 1st and 2nd fix carpentry/joinery, ideally holding a CSCS card, and be asbestos awareness trained. As this is a multi-skilled role, you should be able to carry out basic plumbing and plastering.

Due to the nature of this position, you should have a full UK driving licence, be happy travelling across the county to different sites, and be able to participate in the on-call rota system covering out of hours and weekends.
