What does the role entail?
As a multi skilled engineer you will be carrying out work set by the department manager supporting and building relationships with a wide range of departments within the store such as, the facilities team supporting different contractors, and the IT team using EPOS and computer equipment. You will also be responsible for making sure all up to date legislation is being followed within the store and all Health and Safety is being followed and implemented. Your day-to-day duties will include keeping a log of all repairs, keeping an up-to-date maintenance record and carrying out follow up inspections to make sure the plants and systems within the store always run as smoothly as possible, including: AHU's, FCU's, split cassettes, floor/wall mounted air conditioning units, refrigeration units, lighting systems, heating systems, plumbing and generators. No two days will be the same so please expect a varied engineering role with a mechanical bias, although you will have some experience in electrical too.
What skills will you have?
To be considered for this Multi Skilled Engineer role you will have a mechanical background within the engineering industry. Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical plant maintenance is essential to being suitable for this role. Qualifications or experience working with cooling towers would be a huge bonus but not essential. Working within teams with a good level of communication will also be required due to dealing with many different staff and contractors on a daily basis. Some level of customer service is desirable. On top of being a skilled mechanical engineer you will be a forward thinker possession great intuitive with being able to get stuck into all tasks. A formal qualification in Mechanical or Electrical is required.
