As a NETA Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance on a wide range of electrical systems and equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and protective relays. Your role will focus on ensuring that systems are fully operational, safe, and up to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical acceptance testing, commissioning, and maintenance on systems across industrial, commercial, and utility sectors.
- Test and troubleshoot switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
- Calibrate and test electromechanical and microprocessor-based protective relays.
- Develop and execute test plans and reports per NETA standards and customer specifications.
- Provide technical expertise for system inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and lead on-site safety briefings.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure project execution and compliance with design.
- Communicate system performance and test results to clients.
Qualifications:
- NETA Level 3 or Level 4 Certification
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in electrical testing and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and control panels.
- Familiarity with relay testing equipment (e.g., Doble 6150, Omicron) and relay test software.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, protection, and control diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Travel may be required based on site locations within Texas.
