lapd Architects is an award winning, medium-sized architectural practice, providing a range of residential and commercial architectural support and services around the country, from initial feasibility and concept design, through the technical process, leading to construction supervision and project completion.

We are looking to employ a capable PA/Office Manager to join our team for maternity cover. In this role you will be responsible for the smooth running of our office, allowing our busy architects to focus on the work at hand. You will be managing incoming calls, ensuring supplies are well stocked, managing mail, helping with anything the architects may require.

Another key part of the role is customer facing, supporting our business development and communications, dealing with enquiries, arranging initial client consultations with directors (through our IT based calendar system and database) organisation of diaries, project administration, archiving files and helping with budgeting and expense administration.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Office management.
  • Diary management for the directors.
  • Front end communications: phone calls and email liaison.
  • Architectural administration: learning the processes of the firm and helping to keep the architect's work flow moving at an efficient pace.
  • Relational client communication: working with the communications manager to secure jobs and follow up potential clients.

Our Office Manager is an essential part of the team both organisationally and in terms of revenue. We are looking for a committed and independent worker who understands the importance of outstanding communication in a busy professional services environment.

The key skills we are looking for are:

  • A high level of IT literacy (specifically with social media platforms, email, Microsoft, calendars and databases - we use Outlook and a programme called ArchiOffice.
  • Outstanding communication skills (both written and spoken).
  • Strong office management / administrative skills ideally gained in a similar creative environment.
  • Discretion, flexibility and adaptability.
