BSR is a leading renewable energy developer and provider of expert services into the renewable energy industry. Founded in 2010 we have grown into one of the largest integrated developers in the UK with over 530 MW of ground-mounted solar PV parks successfully installed to date, and a similar quantum of operational assets under our management. Our portfolio includes the four largest sites in the UK.

We currently have a permanent full-time vacancy for an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Operative who will be responsible for supporting O&M Service Technicians on the successful and safe delivery of O&M planned and reactive maintenance activities, on a portfolio of utility scale solar PV plants.

Although our head office is located in Somerset, this permanent role will be based across various solar farm sites in the England and Wales. It is expected that the successful candidate will normally be working on site and the role will require some availability for weekend on-call duties and the occasional head office visit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities relating to grounds, fences, security systems, mounting systems, enclosures, buildings, access tracks, cable management systems, panel cleaning and other aspects of the solar parks;
  • Inspection and testing activities in line with good practice, manufacturer's instructions and contract requirements;
  • Planning and executing preventative maintenance and rectification works in line with agreed Risk Assessments and Method Statements and H&S Policies;
  • Supporting the O&M Service Technicians.

Desired skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in:
    • Construction site operative, with M&E and plant room installation experience; and/or
    • Plant maintenance experience;
  • Thorough approach, detailed record keeper with good situational awareness;
  • Team player and good communicator;
  • Ability to stay motivated and being productive while lone working with little supervision;
  • Enthusiasm for continuing development, learning and incremental improvement;
  • Health and Safety awareness and qualifications, for example CSCS, SSSTS including valid first aid ticket;
  • Sufficient physical fitness for working on your feet all day, with most days involving walking several miles around the solar parks and lifting equipment and components;
  • Clean Driving Licence.
