Location: Based within commutable distance of Westminster, with travel to Basingstoke office and sites across London & Bristol required

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Kier Places are recruiting now for an Operations Manager to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Home Office & Government Property Agency (GPA) Facilities Management team in Westminster, to be responsible for the operational management of the Government Property Agency (GPA) assets under the contract novation from Ministry of Justice to Government Property Agency, and be key to the ongoing delivery of a technical & hard services facilities management (FM) solution.
As an Operations Manager with Kier, reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for operational delivery, customer service, stakeholder management, cost & cash management, and commercial performance of Planned, Reactive and Remedial activity, for our Government Property Agency portfolio primarily located in Westminster, with other sites across London & Bristol. There will be a key focus on building a team with the professionalism and expertise to successfully deliver the client's requirements in this field within agreed budgets.
Key Responsibilities
As a trusted Operations Manager, we will look to you to be responsible for regular review & timely reporting of contract performance; continuous improvement in service delivery & compliance across the estate; optimise commercial return from contract, controlling cost, value, cash management, change and risk; achieve company revenue and income targets, company customer satisfaction targets, and employee engagement targets.
You will be involved in leading improvement in engineering productivity & supply chain activity; improving delivery of pre-planned maintenance (PPM) and Reactive tasks; improving delivery of planned and reactive activity; maximising performance of direct reports through effective target setting, results monitoring, appraisals, and development; effective & consistent management of staff resources in collaboration with Management Team colleagues; and managing staff deployment in a manner that achieves Contract targets and Sales and Administration targets.
Expertly, you will be managing development of service delivery & customer plans and supervise their implementation; developing future work opportunities, contract retention & new work win success through relationship building; and supporting the submission of high-quality tenders in collaboration with Head of Projects.
What do we need from you?
To be an Operations Manager with Kier Places, you'll have a substantial record of success in delivering complex maintenance & repair service activities within major contracts; knowledge and experience of the commercial and legal structure of Government contractual arrangements and Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Framework; and experience of successfully delivering hard / technical facilities management services at a senior management level in the public sector/government environment.
As a collaborative & trusted Operations Manager, you will be a forward-thinking leader with strong relationship building & communication skills, commercially and financially astute, with the ability to provide positive leadership and clear direction to a wide-ranging team.
You should also have an IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Certificate, formal training in performance improvement techniques (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma), and a high-level understanding of spreadsheet and facilities management-related database applications such as our in-house CAFM system, Concept Evolution.
