Gleesons has been exclusively partnered with a National Rail business looking for a Operation Supervisor who is looking for growth and exposures in the Rail Industry.

Job Title : Operations Supervisor (Rail)

Location: Stratford Upon Avon

Duties:

  • Manage the Operations team actively, ensuring safe and smooth site operations as per local protocols.
  • Lead daily and weekly operational meetings, optimising workforce utilisation by aligning workload with resource capacity.
  • Utilise visual management tools to report operational performance and escalate issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Coach and guide the operations workforce to promote best practices and compliance with the companies safe work system.
  • Oversee the team's professional development through regular one-on-one sessions and performance discussions.
  • Conduct site safety inspections and report findings through the site's Safety Management System processes.
  • Optimise site resources through effective management of the company's absence/sickness policy.
  • Ensure a secure operational environment for all personnel and visitors by enforcing site health, safety, and security procedures.
  • Manage operational activities on the site, including plant usage, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Execute operational tasks as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Facilitate customer service delivery for rolling stock activities, adhering to established railway standards.
  • Plan all operational activities on-site, aligning tasks with customer requirements and ensuring smooth site operations.
  • Maintain records of operational activities to demonstrate safe practices and ensure full trace ability of vehicle movements, fulfilling contractual obligations with customers.
  • Support the business in preparing for planned events like Rail Live & Vision & Values, meeting all contractual obligations and expectations.
  • Act as a deputy for the Operations Manager when required
