Key Responsibilities:
Project Documentation & Coordination
- Manage and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) between the field, design consultants, and stakeholders to resolve conflicts or clarify design intent.
- Review, track, and submit submittals for approval, ensuring compliance with project specifications and deadlines.
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and architects on all project communications related to electrical scope.
Change Management
- Identify, evaluate, and initiate change orders, ensuring proper documentation, pricing, and negotiation with the client or general contractor.
- Maintain accurate change order logs and ensure timely integration into project financial tracking.
Budget & Cost Control
- Develop and manage electrical budgets in coordination with the estimating and accounting teams.
- Monitor cost-to-complete and forecast projections throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track labor hours, material costs, and subcontractor billing to maintain budgetary control.
Scope Management
- Interpret contract documents and electrical scope to ensure clarity and accuracy in execution.
- Coordinate scope with procurement and field teams to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
- Proactively manage scope changes to minimize risk and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Project Execution & Closeout
- Support field teams with electrical coordination and constructability review.
- Lead project meetings related to electrical scope and ensure timely distribution of meeting minutes and action items.
- Ensure that punch lists and closeout documentation are completed in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Current State Electrical Journeyman License or 4 year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or licensed journeyman experience.
- 10+ years experience in electrical construction supervision, technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures.
- Experience working with technical industrial, Pharmaceutical, or Data Center environments.
- Hyperscale data center experience preferred.
- Experience with $20M-$100M electrical projects preferred.
- OSHA 30 or ability to obtain
- Understanding of construction and labor scheduling, cost control, and ability to control and supervise large groups.
- Ability to perform takeoffs and pricing for changes orders and related project work.
- Excellent computer, communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills.
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check.

THE ROLE
My client, an established firm of PQS now seeks a SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR with some experience of the EMPLOYER'S AGENT role to join them in the Stockport, Greater Manchester area.
You will have the opportunity of working on a range of projects including residential and care homes for private and public sector clients.
You will be involved in all aspects of Cost Management doing both pre and post contract duties including overseeing cost management and budget control, dealing directly with clients and stakeholders, preparing reports and maintaining project documentation, ensuring compliance with contracts etc.
THE COMPANY
My client is a firm of PQS with a good range of clients and they are on various client frameworks.
They are a firm of construction consultants offering clients both cost management, employer's agent and project management services.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK firm of PQS.
You will need to have at least 5 years or more experience doing both pre and post contract duties.
You will need to have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar and be either MRICS qualified or you may be working towards APC and have a number of years QS experience.
Some experience of the Employer's Agent role including contract administration is preferred.
You should to deal directly with clients and stakeholders and have first class communication skills.
You will need to be a car owner and driver as some of the projects are not near to public transport.
You should have a stable work record.
You must have excellent English both written and spoken along with good IT skills and have good client facing skills.
Salary is in the region of £55000 to £75000 plus car allowance, pension contribution plus RICS fees and two discretionary bonus' per annum. Health insurance after a year.
