Senior Architect in Cambridge, East Anglia

Hunter Dunning is now representing a Senior Architect job, based in Cambridge. Within this role, you will be working on some of the country's most high-profile heritage and conservation projects across all RIBA stages. They would also look for a Senior Architectural Technician with similar experience.

This practice partners with public bodies, charities, developers, and private clients to shape some of the UK's most iconic buildings and spaces. Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical design packages, ensuring clear outputs and deliverables.
  • Oversee and coordinate projects or key packages, delivering high-quality design, client satisfaction, and strong financial outcomes.
  • Liaise and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring smooth coordination of design professionals and stakeholders.
  • Conduct technical design reviews and audits, providing feedback and sharing lessons learned.
  • Mentor and manage up to three team members, while contributing to the practice's Technical Leadership Group.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years of post-qualification experience as a Project Architect or Technologist in a UK-based practice, with RIBA/ARB or CIAT accreditation.
  • Strong technical expertise, including detailing, UK Building & Planning regulations, and experience across all RIBA stages (3-7).
  • Proficiency in technical software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and NBS, with experience managing others using these tools.
  • Leadership and project management skills, including managing teams, contract administration, and financial responsibility for projects.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to lead teams, liaise with stakeholders, and mentor junior staff.
