The Qualifications We Seek
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (preferred; equivalent practical experience considered).
1-3 years of underwriting experience required, preferably in merchant cash advance (MCA), lending, credit risk analysis, or related financial services.
Strong underwriting mindset with the ability to assess risk factors and make sound, data-driven decisions.
Experience analyzing financial statements, income patterns, or non-traditional income structures (e.g., gig economy platforms) is a plus.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail in risk assessment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for both internal and client-facing interactions.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple applications simultaneously in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Familiarity with Infinity software, CRMs, or financial analysis platforms is preferred but not required.
Customer-centric approach with strong interpersonal skills for effective client engagement.
Willingness to work onsite in night shifts and take on varied responsibilities ("wear multiple hats").
Your Daily Tasks
Underwriting & Evaluation
Review and analyze MCA applications, focusing on three months of bank statements, ACH transactions, and other financial data.
Validate income sources, distinguishing between consumer and gig economy income streams.
Assess applicants' financial stability and ensure compliance with internal underwriting guidelines.
Provide well-documented underwriting decisions supported by data-driven insights.
Process Improvement
Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities to enhance underwriting processes and criteria.
Stay informed about market trends and gig economy developments to refine underwriting practices.
Propose and help implement innovative strategies to improve risk assessment and applicant evaluation.
Customer Communication
Engage with applicants to explain MCA products, requirements, and the underwriting process.

Documentation & Reporting
