The Qualifications We Seek
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably with Australian clients.
Strong knowledge of Xero (and related add-ons), payroll processing, BAS preparation, and general ledger reconciliations.
Ability to review financial statements, identify discrepancies, and perform accurate P&L and Balance Sheet analysis.
Proven ability to supervise and train junior staff, manage workloads, and liaise effectively with clients and managers.
Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and drive process improvement with minimal supervision.
Your Daily Tasks
Liaise directly with Australian and local Client Managers, as well as the local team in the Philippines, to assist multiple Australian clients with general accounting and bookkeeping requirements based on their defined scope of services.
Complete assigned accounting and bookkeeping tasks with minimal supervision, coordinating with the Client Manager for complex client issues.
Deliver effective, efficient, and timely completion of general management accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including the preparation of recurring reports, payroll, WorkCover, superannuation, and payroll tax.
Prepare and verify working papers, update templates, and maintain an overview of client tasks.
Oversee junior staff and review their daily and end-of-month reconciliations of client accounts.
Manage junior staff tasks and ongoing session lists as required by the client's scope of services.
Manage debtor and creditor ledgers, including supplier batch payments.
Address ad-hoc client queries and requests promptly and professionally.
Develop and enhance workflow processes, update, and maintain client databases.
Train and mentor junior staff, ensuring appropriate allocation of tasks and quality of output.
Review and oversee Business Activity Statements (BAS) prepared by junior staff, including GST audits and reconciliations.
Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) as needed, including GST audits and reconciliations.
Prepare management reports for client review.
Prepare and process Australian payroll, including employee terminations.
Conduct Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet analysis by reviewing relevant GL items, identifying variances, errors, and inconsistencies, escalating issues to the Senior Tax Accountant, and correcting discrepancies identified in junior staff work.

You will also provide guidance on risk, early warnings, and potential opportunities that could impact project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and review detailed programmes using Primavera P6, ensuring schedules are realistic, achievable, and NEC/compliant.
