We have an opportunity for an Electrician to join the repairs and maintenance team for a local council in Kensington and Chelsea.
This is a static role based entirely on one housing estate - no travel between sites. While you won't be issued a van or fuel card, there is a pool van available on the estate for operatives to use during the day if needed, so you'll need a full UK manual driving licence.
Responsibilities:
- Performing a comprehensive range of responsive repairs, maintenance tasks, and planned works.
- Identifying and resolving electrical faults reported by tenants.
- Addressing urgent electrical issues, including power outages, faulty wiring, and safety hazards.
- Installing new electrical systems, such as lighting, sockets, consumer units, and complete rewiring in both occupied and vacant properties.
- Conducting Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and necessary remedial work to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Upholding a professional and respectful demeanour when engaging with residents and housing staff.
- Accurately documenting completed work, materials used, and time spent on tasks using the PDA system.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
- Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018
- Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (2365)
- Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installations (2357)

Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect social housing properties to identify signs of dampness, mould, and related issues such as condensation or water ingress.
- Diagnose the underlying causes of damp and mould problems (e.g., poor ventilation, plumbing leaks, rising damp).
- Carry out treatment and remediation work including mould removal, damp proofing, and wall treatments.
- Repair and maintain affected areas, including plastering, decorating, and sealing surfaces as needed.
- Install or improve ventilation systems and recommend solutions to prevent future damp and mould growth.
- Collaborate with tenants, housing officers, and contractors to ensure effective resolution of damp-related complaints.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and treatment work, including photographic evidence and reports.
