An industry-leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers an opportunity to work on a range of complex projects across sectors including aviation, defence, nuclear, rail, highways, and energy.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in steel structures, including the design, fabrication, and erection of structural steelwork. A strong understanding of steel connections, welding techniques, and material properties is essential. Proficiency in structural analysis software for steel design, as well as knowledge of relevant Eurocodes and British Standards, is highly desirable. Experience in temporary works related to steel structures, such as propping, bracing, and lifting operations, would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities: Undertake structural analysis and design for permanent and temporary works (predominantly permanent). Provide engineering solutions in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration of design and construction methodologies. Conduct site visits and assessments, offering technical support to project teams. Assist in preparing calculations, technical reports, and design drawings. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. Key Requirements: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered or working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE. Strong knowledge of structural analysis, design software, and industry standards. Knowledge of structural steel, steel connections and the usage of different materials. Experience in temporary works design is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team. Effective communication and report-writing skills.
