Quantity Surveyor

Position: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Mayo
Salary: DOE
Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
- Pre-contract cost control and documentation
- Oversee all commercial aspects of the contracts, support site staff in understanding the contract documents in order to satisfy the clients requirements and maximize revenue/variations.
- Producing fully priced and detailed bills of quantities, labour hours and materials for the complete project life-cycle
- Commercial feedback into internal systems, and management of internal systems, for example Sage.
- The Quantity Surveyor will be preparing costs for variations
- Producing progress and cost reports when requested
- The Quantity Surveyor will be reporting to senior management on progression of projects
- Involvement in cost plans, tracking labour costs and efficiency throughout projects
- Dealing with clients, contractors etc in a professional manner
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
- Third level qualification preferably in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
- Min 1+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Commercial awareness
- Computer literacy
- Experience with Main Contractors would be an advantage

Our client are a growing civil engineering consultancy with a growing order book of work, based in Greater Belfast area. They are looking to add to their team with a civil engineer who has ideally gained some previous experience on site working for contractors previously. Due to solid and continuous growth in the company's order book they are looking to grow their team. The company is able to offer diverse experience in a number of regulated markets, supported by very experienced managers who have worked across a number of different sectors of civil engineering and can pass down their knowledge. They are also interested in supporting you on your journey towards chartership.
This is a really exciting opportunity to continue your career with a company that also embraces hybrid working within their business. You will be given a market competitive salary based upon ability and can join a growing business that is really growing its client base and future work book having identified a niche in the market with few current competitors.
Duties
As a Civil Engineer you will be working in an established team to ensure that construction programs and schedules are created and maintained. You will be looking at designs and identifying clashes, all the time whilst liaising and working closely with your line manager. You will be creating method statements and plans and liaison with clients and third parties.
Requirements
You should hold a civil engineering degree or equivalent.
You must hold a UK drivers licence.
Ideally gained some years of on site experience within civil engineering contractors.
A cscs card would be beneficial but not essential.
