Payroll Administrator / Timekeeper


Location: Aylesford, Kent - site based


Project: M20


The Kier Highways Major Projects division are currently recruiting for an Payroll Administrator / Timekeeper to join the Smart Motorways business.

Kier is working in collaboration with Highways England to deliver multiple Smart Motorways schemes across the UK, converting hard shoulders in to running lanes and installing sensors and signs to monitor and manage traffic flow so as to improve journey times in areas suffering from congestion.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Weekly payroll for hourly paid operatives
  • Maintain accurate records of staff attendance and produce weekly reports using Ganetime System
  • Record all absences / sickness on the system
  • Use of biometric system - uploading and validating new staff
  • Recording of information from daily allocation sheets
  • Support the Office Manager with ad hoc or project based administration.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Payroll Experience
  • previous administrative experience
  • Must be IT literate with understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Efficient and professional approach with the ability to multi-task
  • Possess strong communication, organisational and time management skills
  • General willingness to be helpful, enthusiastic and flexible
  • Able to work as an individual and as part of a team
