Introduction:







Kier Strategic Highways are looking to recruit an ITAC Manager to join the new technology contract for Highways England in Area 9.







Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.








Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage the development of the long-term pro-active maintenance plans in conjunction with the technology maintenance operations team.
  • Lead, manage and deliver high quality and innovative performance analysis and reports for the delivery of technology maintenance.
  • Able to use the available systems to monitor technology performance and to use the available systems to recommend improvements, including:
  • Pro-active maintenance regimes
  • Process efficiencies
  • Support scheme renewals
  • Work with the existing Area 9 performance team to report to Highways England and the project board on Contract performance.
  • Collaborate with key supply chain partners, other areas of Kier and with our client to deliver exceptional service levels. Ensure this collaboration take place throughout all levels of the team.
  • Produce and implement the wider Technology team Key Performance Indicators
  • Take an active role in applying innovative techniques and products to the delivery of technology maintenance.
  • Working with the area 9 performance team to manage and deliver the quarterly Collaborative Performance Framework (CPF) toolkit performance metrics and associated review meetings.
  • Obtaining data on performance, by compiling and analysing CPF scores
  • Liaison with Highways England CPF team to maintain awareness of forthcoming change, to be a focus for feeding back views and experience to Highways England.
  • Key Skills and Qualifications:



  • Experience managing operational change. The successful applicant will not be afraid to challenge the way things are done and to provide leadership through the change process.
  • Experience of performance management and continuous improvement
  • Ability to analyse complex data
  • The ability to work with and influence people at all levels of National Delivery Service and the wider business to manage and develop a team
  • Experience in leading managing and developing a team of analytical based staff
  • Commercial acumen with a focus on maximising profitability whilst meeting or exceeding service requirements.
  • The ability to influence at senior level, e.g. experience of presenting and reviewing performance metrics with senior management
  • Ability to learn and keep up to date with changes in highways technology standards and required statutory legislation.
  • Computer literate and fully conversant with MS Office suite.
  • Degree or equivalent vocational qualification in technology related discipline(desirable)
