We are Kier, one of the UK's leading Construction and Infrastructure services, working on projects such as Hinkley Point C and Mogden Sewage Treatment Works. We are now recruiting for a Planner to initially manage, monitor and develop all aspects of our Castlepoint Shopping Centre programme of works.

Key Responsibilities

In this exciting Planner role, you'll initially play a key role within the Castlepoint Shopping Centre project to aid delivery to time and budget. You'll ensure the programme is continually developed, communicated, reviewed, monitored, and efficiently delivered across all stages of the project planning life cycle, supporting the project management team through construction and handover.
You'll work closely with the operational team to plan the sequence of work, explore, and develop "what-if" scenarios and the resourcing of the project. You'll also provide key data to support the business unit project control and reporting.
Due to business needs, this role will develop beyond Castlepoint into support for other live projects and with potential support for our winning team too.

What do we need from you?

You'll have:
  • Demonstrable experience in contract planning for a main contractor under NEC 3 contract conditions, including change management
  • Experience of demolition and construction of large-scale structures is desirable, with a sound technical knowledge of the construction process
  • Experience of civil engineering carried out in an environment with consideration of multiple stakeholders
  • Competency within industry standard planning software
  • Proactive mind-set with good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Previous operational site delivery background
