Location: Flexible location with Sheffield office base, with ability to travel nationally

The Capital Projects Team work on refurbishment and new build construction projects across the Blue Light, Health, Education, Retail, Commercial & Residential sectors with values up to £15 million on a national basis. The activities we undertake range from the planning, design and delivery of complex refurbishment and new build projects up to the value of £15m, where we are able to utilise our team's broad skills base, through to small regional projects for valued customers

Kier Places are now recruiting for an experienced Planner to join our passionate Capital Projects Team based from our Thorncliffe office in Sheffield. With our diverse portfolio of projects from north of the M25 to as far as Lancashire & Newcastle, we are looking for an individual who has a passion for the project at hand, and securing work, whilst also being able to work as part of a closely knit team that has the opportunity to develop and control its own destiny. We understand this approach is essential to ensure we consistently win work and secure repeat business.


Key Responsibilities

As a Planner, your role will be key to the growth strategy of this area of the business, producing effective programmes, logistics and methodologies as part of our collaborative Pre-Construction and delivery team.

The Planner role will focus on leading and owning the planning process and working collaboratively with our pre-construction and operational teams. As an integral member of our team, you'll coordinate and manage the production of high-quality programmes from inception through to project completion, taking ownership of the process and documentation.


What do we need from you?

As a Planner, collaborative working with all external and internal stakeholders will be crucial. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate an ability to plan, coordinate and manage either at preconstruction or construction stage whilst also demonstrating a sound construction knowledge. The ideal candidate will primarily have experience with projects that focus on occupied residential buildings.
